Demolishing Memorial Coliseum -- a bad idea inside a bad plan

I want to link to a fantastic opinion piece by Barry Johnson of the Oregonian. The piece lays out virtually every argument imaginable for saving the Portland Memorial Coliseum, and placing the proposed AAA baseball stadium elsewhere, without being too academic . One of the best points that he makes and one that I have had a hard time trying to put into words is the point that we should just accept the Rose Quarter for what it is and plan around it. Then followed up by his point that the city should keep the Coliseum as-is and finally spend some money to renovate it and then put it under new management.

A great piece that should be read by everyone involved in this issue.
